Thanks to the efforts of Steve Grooms, Class of 1975, the first of two statues celebrating a “Lifetime of Learning” has been installed in the Kearny Library. Commissioned by Mission Federal Credit Union, Mary Buckman, Kearny Class of 1965, created a pair of statues highlighting the importance of reading and learning. The second statue shows a woman listening to a young boy reading a book. The statues can be seen in many branches of Mission Federal Credit Union. Acquisition of the second statue is currently in progress and Kearny looks forward to proudly displaying both statues in the near future.
