From the Linda Vista Sentinel, December, 1947
With an 80-year history, Kearny’s Homecoming traditions go back a ways. Here are two articles from the Linda Vista Sentinel from early December 1947. There are two trivia questions related to these articles: where is Arvin Field, and who is it named after?
Arvin Field was the football field at Kearny’s Ulric Street location. The field was named after John Arvin, who was the manager of the San Diego area public housing authority when Kearny Junior-Senior High School was constructed.
